36th CEVISAMA ENDS ON RECORD VISITOR NUMBERS – 90,000 – AND RECORD AMOUNT OF BUSINESS CLOSED
Cevisama closed today as an edition that can claim to be truly historic. With the crisis having been left behind, the domestic market recovering, the fair taking on a more international profile than ever and the vast majority of exhibitors satisfied with the outcomes, Cevisama is most definitely the leading sales platform for the floor and wall tile, frits, glazes and colours, ceramic tile manufacturing machinery, bathroom furnishings and installation materials and tools industries.
Cevisama president Miguel Rubert today highlighted the fair’s “resounding success”. He claimed that, while the final numbers for the fair are still being crunched, “we will definitely have had more than 90,000 trade visitors walk through the door, around 9% more than last year, which was already an excellent result.”
Indeed, in his opinion the record number of visitors who attended in 2017 – 16,700 overseas buyers – “will probably have been exceeded as well, although we do need to sift through the data to get the exact figure.” Rubert added in this regard that manufacturers “were hard at work all week, whereas normally the busiest time is the middle part of the week, Tuesday and Wednesday. To give you an idea, on Monday, which tends to be a quiet day, we had 20% more professionals through the door than on the Monday of last year’s fair, which says a lot about the positive results overall.”
The United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Asian countries are some of the countries that exhibitors say they have had most visitors from this week.
Cevisama director Carmen Álvarez, said that a number of prospective new exhibitors, particularly foreign companies, have expressed interest in being part of Cevisama 2019. “And some of our existing exhibitors have said that they would like to have more space next year,” she added.
Lastly, Rubert wanted to stress that the Cevisama team “made huge efforts and was utterly professional, whilst the organizing committee worked extremely hard too.” He also thanked the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencia Government) for its “enhanced support of Cevisama and Feria Valencia” and asked that this collaboration “become even stronger under the current administration and also that central Government echo that support.”
