“Professionals really appreciated this year’s ‘Made in Europe’ proposition, and we have opened up new fields related to the contract sector with initiatives such as he ‘Hotel Cevisama’”, claims fair director Carmen Álvarez.
Innovative design formed of modular ceramic tile pieces and system for sightless children to learn bathtime routines won the day in Cevisama’s Emerging Talent event.
Valencia, 28th February 2025.- With just a few hours to go until the 41st edition of Cevisama closes its doors this afternoon, the feeling amongst all the groups of professionals attending the re-vamped fair at Feria Valencia was very positive. The fair’s director, Carmen Álvarez, was keen to underscore in this regard, “the extremely high quality of buyers choosing to come to Cevisama, they have significant purchasing power and are major specifiers, which means our exhibitors were able not just to create loyalty amongst their customer portfolios but also open their businesses to new markets”. On this same subject, Álvarez highlighted that “Cevisama continues to retain and expand its ability to draw international visitors, with buyers attending from an estimated 150 countries. Their response to the new collections and products on show over these last few days has been very positive, in all sectors represented at Cevisama: ceramics, bathrooms, and technology and machinery for the tile manufacturing industry”. The fair’s director also highlighted Cevisama’s position as a magnet for “all of Spain’s purchasing power including retailers, wholesalers and construction companies that have been able to enhance their product catalogues and place orders for the current exercise”. For Carmen Álvarez, “we took a punt on ‘Made in Europe’ and our visitors responded extremely positively to it. They particularly appreciated the level of quality of the innovations on show and the degree of engagement they reflected”. She also wanted to highlight “the response we had from the community of contract sector specifiers and professionals, who appreciated Cevisama’s focus on this field, as demonstrated by highly successful projects such as Héctor Ruiz-Velázquez’s ‘Hotel Cevisama’”.
Cevisama rewards young design talent
On another front, Cevisama this morning announced the winners of a fresh round of the Emerging Talent Event, the competition aimed at students of design that was part of CevisamaLab 2025. The Competition, which is supported by the Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Asociación de Diseñadores de la Comunitat Valenciana (ADCV), the Colegio de Diseñadores de Interior de la Comunidad Valenciana (CDICV) and the Colegio Territorial de Arquitectos de València (CTAV), awarded first prize in the ceramic category to África Macías, a student at the Escuela Superior de Cerámica de L’Alcora ESCAL, for her O-Buit project, a system of modular, flexible and versatile ceramic tiles that can be used to form multiple patterns in applications such as screens and building blocks. In the bathroom category, first prize went to ‘TAPI’, a project by Aurora Bonet (Universidad Politécnica de València ETSIADI). Bonet created an innovative system for helping children who cannot see learn a routine for washing, involving differently shaped receptacles embedded in the wall.
Last day of Interior Design, Architecture and Contract Forum
The Interior Design, Architecture and Contract Forum, for its part, ended one of its best-attended editions to date. And it did so in style, with a reflection on what the keys to customer satisfaction are in hotel and residential projects. Projects involving leading players in the industry such as Arqueha, Inhaus and Eseiesa were presented and a round table held that addressed the issue, with participants including representatives of the hotel industry such as Casual Hoteles, Sweet Hoteles, Aecom and Zenova.
