The Cevisama Lab Design Competition is launched with the publication of the bases for the 2017 call.  As in previous years, two categories have been established.  The first one is for ceramic design, further divided into ceramic products which forming takes place mainly by extrusion though also by semi-dry pressing, and ceramic products which forming takes place via alternative methods.  In line with the rules of the competition, in this category we will assess the ceramic products for architecture that meet the criteria of formal or aesthetic innovation, functional innovation, decorative development, good value for money, security and respect for the environment.

CEVISAMA LAB
The second category is ‘bathroom design’ that this time is presented under the slogan “A bathroom in the garden” and the challenge for the contestants is to represent a bathroom, or a part of it, seamlessly blended into the surrounding landscape.
Two prizes will be awarded in each of the categories, worth 2.000 euros for the winner and 1.000 euros for the second prize.  As every year, Cevisama Lab will choose an independent jury of leading design professionals that determines the selection of pieces and the winners of the different awards.
Deadline for online applications is December 31st, 2016.  And time limit for the receipt of pieces will last until January 25th, 2017.
The competition is open to students currently enrolled in any Schools of Design, Fine Arts, Architecture and Engineering –both national and international- as well as students on postgraduate courses and master courses and students graduated in 2016.  All additional information is available at the web: www.cevisamalab.com
